Raiders Pounce on Tigers, Win 4-0

The Raiders (7-4-1, 4-2 GPAC) dominated Dakota Wesleyan University (3-7-1, 0-6-1 GPAC) Saturday night, 4-0.

The cold and snowy and cold night started off well for NWC as they got on the scoreboard in the 6th minute when Emily Hurley got in on the right side and beat her defender and then slotted a ball back to Nikky Farnsworth for her first of the night.

Farnsworth would double her tally in the 35th minute when Tati Garcia would get played through after a great ball from Maddi Avery and Garcia would slot the ball back to Farnsworth for her second of the night.

The Raiders would start off even better in the second half as NWC was all over the Tigers and would be rewarded in the 54th minute when Farnsworth would find herself again with the ball in the box and would play MacKenzie Bammer on the weak side for a great near post finish. It would be Bammer's first goal of the year.

Farnsworth would get the favor returned from Bammer in the 69th minute. Julie Dunlap would play Bammer through on the left side and she would be the DWU outside back and slot the ball to Farnsworth for a near post finish. Her hat trick would be her second of her career. Her first came in 2017 against Doane University.

"I felt like we played a really solid game throughout the match today," commented head coach Ben Karnish. "We play well in the first half but came out in the second half and dominated even more of the game. Great to see that our gals can play well and then play even better after the half."

The Raiders continue GPAC play Wednesday at Briar Cliff University at 1pm.
