Leading 16-8 at the end of the first quarter, Northwestern outscored Morningside 29-7 in the second period for a 45-15 halftime lead. The Mustangs scored the first five points of the second, cutting the Red Raider lead down to three following a three-pointer by Faith Meyer. Northwestern then closed with a 29-2 run, giving up one field goal over the final 8:30, beginning with a three-point play by Darbi Gustafson and ending with four straight points by Kiel.

Northwestern maintained at least a 23-point lead for the duration of the second half, pushing its advantage to as much as 32 points at three different times in the final 10 minutes.

Both Gustafson (17 pts, 12 rebounds) and Kassidy De Jong (14pts, 10 rebounds) tallied double-doubles and Taylor VanderVelde scored 11 points to go with five rebounds. With her first basket of the game, De Jong became the eighth player in program history to score 2,000 points.
