The Tigers have dropped back-to-back games coming into Wednesday night, losing to both Benedictine-Mesa (Ariz.) and Embry-Riddle (Ariz.) over the break in games played in Arizona. With conference play, Doane has won two of its last three, earning wins over both Mount Marty and Concordia and losing at home to #18 Dakota Wesleyan prior to break. Nearing the halfway point of the conference slate, Doane is in ninth place in the standings at 2-6, one game in back of Northwestern, and 5-11 overall.
McKeithen is in the midst of his third year as the Tigers' head coach, coming to Doane after a three-year stint as head coach at University of Benedictine Springfield. McKeithen returns four starters and eight players from a 2017-18 team that went 7-11 in the GPAC (7th), 14-18 overall, losing to Northwestern in the GPAC semifinals.

The Red Raiders split their games over the Christmas break, losing to a ranked Friends (Kan.) team and defeating Viterbo (Wis.) last Saturday, avenging an earlier loss to the V-Hawks back in November.
