Abby Petersen (Moville, Iowa) has signed a letter of intent to continue her track and field career at Northwestern College this fall.

Petersen recently completed her fourth season competing for the Kingsley-Pierson/Woodbury Central track and field team. Petersen qualified for the state meet in four events as a senior, placing seventh in the 100m and eighth as a member of the distance medley. She also qualified as a member of the 4x100 relay and sprint medley. Petersen has personal bests of 12.6 in the 100m and 27.0 in the 200m while also receiving Distinguished Academic Achievement honors. She plans to major in Nursing at Northwestern and is the daughter of Tim and Jen.

"Abby is a premier sprinter who we are happy to have join our women's track & field team this fall," commented Northwestern head coach Scott Bahrke. "She is excited to see how fast she can get at the college level as a member of our Red Raider program."
