Jesse Van Wyk (
Sully, Iowa) has signed a letter of intent to continue his basketball career at Northwestern College next year.
Van Wyk is a 6'4" guard/forward who lettered four years for Lynnville-Sully High School. Van Wyk finished his high school career leading the Hawks to yet another state tournament appearance, while putting up 14.2 points, 8.2 rebounds and 3.3 assists per contest. He was a first-team all-state selection and a first-team all-conference selection in both his junior and senior campaigns.  Van Wyk also excelled on the football field, where he was a third-team all-state pick his senior season and a first-team all-district selection in both his junior and senior seasons.  Van Wyk plans to major in business agriculture here at Northwestern and he is the son of Joel and Heidi.
"Jesse is an all-state performer who has been coached well in high school," commented head coach
Kris Korver. "Jesse is a winner and he comes from a winning culture. He does many things well on the basketball floor. He can play inside and out, he is unselfish, rebounds well and has a strong work ethic. Jesse will be a great addition to our program and student body!"
