Iowa All-Stater Chooses Northwestern

Grant DeMeulenaere (Altoona, Iowa) has signed a letter of intent to continue his basketball career at Northwestern College next year.5612

DeMeulenaere is a 6'0" point guard who had a stellar three-year career playing for Grand View Christian School. A two-time, first team all-state selection, DeMeulenaere averaged 22 points, 2.8 rebounds and 5.8 assists in leading Grand View Christian to its second consecutive class 1A state championship in 2018. He was named the state tournament most valuable player by the Des Moines Register and earned all-tournament team honors by both the Des Moines Register and Prep Hoops Iowa. DeMeulenaere scored 19.2 points to go with nearly seven assists per game in leading his team to the state title, earning all-tournament team and first team all-state honors as a junior. DeMeulenaere scored 1,340 points and drained 165 three-pointers during his career, earning all-conference honors three years. An academic all-state selection and member of the National Honor Society, DeMeulenaere plans to major in Business at Northwestern. He is the son of Bill and Krista.
