Raiders Fall To Doane

On The Mound


Alec Rickabaugh started game one on Saturday.  Rickabaugh went five innings, allowing nine hits, four runs, while striking out three.  Mason O'Donnell came in relief and pitched the final inning. O'Donnell went one inning allowing two hits and one run.  Rickabaugh moves to 0-2 record on the season.  For Doane Manny Armendariz pitched a complete game, three hit, shutout on 65 pitches.

At The Plate

Hits were tough to come by as the Raiders only managed three hits.  Reed Smith, Michael Callahan, and Dustin Gaither all had hits. Callahan and Gaither each had doubles.

On The Mound


Mitchell Kresnik made his 4thstart of the season.  Kresnik went seven innings allowing nine hits, striking out career high nine, and allowed four runs.  Kresnik left the game with the scored tied 4-4 after seven. Tanner Ortlund came in relief in the 8th inning. Ortlund went 2/3 of an inning allowing just one hit, but walked one, hit one, and defensive error allowed Doane to score four runs. Zac Bridger pitched the final out of the eighth inning allowing one hit and one run with one walk. Ortlund takes the loss and falls to 1-2.

At The Plate

Reed Smith got the scoring going early for the Raiders with a solo homerun in the 3rd inning.  Matt Martin joined in the action with a solo homerun of his own in the 3rd to push the lead to 2-0. The Raiders added two more runs in the 4th inning.  Zach Rosson bunt got thrown down the right field line which scored Dustin Gaither from first, Rosson moved up to third base.  AJ Nitzschke drove in Britton Yoder, who was running for Rosson.  Unfortunately for the Raiders they would not find a way onto the scoreboard the rest of the day.  Raiders finished with five hits, walked eight total times. Both Michael Callahan and Colton Harold walked three times each.
