Red Raiders Drop Matches To Bethel, Minnesota State

Northwestern opened its spring season with a pair of losses this afternoon in matches played in Minnesota. The Red Raiders began the day with a 9-0 loss to Bethel (Minn.) and then dropped a 7-2 match to Minnesota State. 

Kendra McGinnis and Jacque Ingram both picked up singles' wins against the Mavericks this evening. Playing in the second spot in the line-up, McGinnis knocked off Camila Ojeda in three close sets, 7-5, 4-6 and 10-8. Ingram won a three-set thriller as well, taking the final two sets 6-2, 10-4 after losing the first set 7-5 to Nina Riesselman. 

Northwestern (0-3) will next play two matches on Feb. 17 against College of Saint Benedict and Martin Luther.
