Blake Fryar (
Waukee, Iowa) has signed a letter of intent to continue his football career at Northwestern College next year.
Fryar is a 6'1", 185-pound quarterback who had a standout four-year career playing for Van Meter High School. Fryar accounted for over 2,300 yards and 23 touchdowns in leading his team to the 1A state championship and a 13-0 record. He completed 61% of his passes for 1,728 yards and 17 touchdowns while also rushing for 583 yards and six scores. Fryar was named to the Iowa Newspaper Association (INA) all-state team (3
rd team) and earned all-district honors two years. He finished his career with a 24-1 record as a starter under center. Fryar is also a two-year starter and all-conference player on Van Meter's fourth-ranked basketball team. An outstanding student who is a member of the National Honor Society, Fryar is the son of Matthew and Bridget.
