Northwestern College won all nine matches in picking up a 9-0 sweep over Buena Vista for its second consecutive win in a match played this afternoon in Storm Lake, Iowa. The Red Raiders improve to 2-4 on the year.Â
The Red Raiders opened the match with three wins in doubles play, including a close 9-7 win at No.2 by
Kendra McGinnis and
Emma Van Drie.
Zoe Holscher and
Jacque Ingram did not drop a game in their 8-0 win at No.1 doubles, improving to 3-3 on the season. The final doubles match was won by forfeit.
Northwestern dominated singles' play as well, winning three of the four matches played in straight sets. Ingram needed a tie-break (10-5) to defeat Rachel West to earn her team-leading fifth win at No.3 singles. Holscher defeated Madison Gierstorf 6-3, 6-0 at No.1 singles and McGinnis lost just one game in defeating Emily Hoesing at No.2 singles.
