Northwestern College picked up its first win of the season, a 7-2 victory over Martin Luther College, to split a pair of non-conference matches played today in Sartell, Minn. The Red Raiders lost to College of Saint Benedict (Minn.) in the first match this morning, 8-1, and is now 1-4 on the season.
The Red Raiders swept all three doubles matches against the Knights, needing a tie break (10-6) for
Zoe Holscher and
Jacque Ingram to come away with a 9-8 win at the No.1 slot.

Emma Van Drie earned an 8-5 win at No.2 doubles and
Liz Foster and
Kelly Shortenhaus combined for an 8-4 win at No.3.
Northwestern came out on top in four of the six singles matches, earning straight set wins at No.2, No.3, No.4 and No.5. Ingram picked up her team-leading fourth win with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Morgan Shevey and McGinnis improved to 3-2 with a convincing 6-0, 6-4 victory at No.2.Â
Ingram was the lone victor in the morning match against College of Saint Benedict, earning a 6-2, 6-4 win at No.3 singles against Ellen Stensrud.Â
