Red Raiders, Jamestown Meet For Mid-Week Match-Up

Game Time... Fifth-ranked Northwestern makes the long trip north to play #20 University of Jamestown in a conference match-up between ranked teams on Wednesday night, Dec. 5. Tip-off at the Newman Center is scheduled for 6pm. Northwestern has won five straight games and is 4-1 in league play, 8-1 overall. Jamestown has dropped four straight and brings a 2-4 conference record, 5-5 overall, into Wednesday night's game.

All-Time...Northwestern holds an 8-4 lead in the all-time series and is 3-2 over the last five games against Jamestown. Last year, the Red Raiders lost to Jamestown 74-59 in the second game of the season played in North Dakota.

The Jimmies began the season with a 5-1 record but have lost four straight heading into Wednesday night. They have wins over Doane and Briar Cliff, both at home, in league play, but have dropped games to Concordia, Dakota Wesleyan, Mount Marty and Dordt during the last two weeks. 

Hired in July of 2018, Sankey is in his first season as the head of the Jamestown women's basketball program. Sankey spent five years in the same role at Concordia (Mich.) and played at Concordia (Nebraska) in the early 2000's. He inherits a Jamestown team that won the North Star Athletic Association regular season title with a 16-0 record and qualified for the NAIA Championship. They lost to Concordia in the quarterfinals and return two starters and eight players from last year's team.

Northwestern puts its five-game win streak on the line against the 20th-ranked Jimmies. Since losing its only game of the season on the road against No.2 Dakota Wesleyan on Nov. 7, the Red Raiders have wins over College of Saint Mary, Mount Marty, Morningside, Waldorf and Dordt during their streak. They are in second place in the GPAC with a 4-1 record, 8-1 overall.
