Plecker To Join Red Raider Baseball

Jacob Plecker (Keosauqua, Iowa) has signed a letter of intent to continue his baseball career at Northwestern College Next fall.

Plecker is a 5'10" infielder / pitcher who has played three years for the Van Buren Community High School baseball team. Last season, Plecker led the team with a .515 batting average in 83 plate appearances. Plecker accounted for 21 runs, four doubles, and 16 RBIs. Plecker on the mound threw 37.2 innings, had a 3.16 earned run average, striking out 26, and only allowing nine walks. His offense and work on the mound helped in landing all-district and conference player of the year honors. An outstanding student, Plecker was named academic all-conference and is a member of National Honor Society. Jacob intends to major in sports management, media, and marketing. Jacob is the son of Mike and Lisa.

"Jacob is a rare player who hit over 0.500 in a high school season. His bat to ball skills are really unique and we really look forward to his development as a player while at Northwestern. Plecker will be a great fit for our team and will be someone that will make our program better and will be a great addition to our Kinesiology department as well!" – Head Coach Brian Wede
