The Flames dropped their GPAC opener last time out, losing 82-62 to Morningside in Sioux City Wednesday night. They are 1-5 on the year, picking up a 73-64 win over Nebraska Christian College on Oct. 31 for their lone victory. CSM has lost to Bethany (Kan.), Kansas Wesleyan, Bellevue (Neb.) and Sterling (Kan.) in non-conference play.
Walker, a long-time high school coach, took over the Flames' program last spring from former head coach Jesse Flanagan. He inherits a team that returns three starters and nine players from 2017-18 team that finished tied for 10th place in the GPACÂ at 2-18, 5-25 overall. They were picked to finish 12th in the preseason GPACÂ poll.Â

The Red Raiders lost its first game of the season, falling to No.2 Dakota Wesleyan 76-73 at the Corn Palace Wednesday night. They are 1-1 against ranked teams, defeating Valley City State earlier this season.
