Tyler Merley (
Sheldon, Iowa) has signed a letter of intent to continue his golf career at Northwestern College next semester.

Merley had a standout four-year career playing for Sheldon High School and comes to Northwestern after a semester at Iowa State. Merley was a first team all-state selection all four years and placed at the 2A state tournament three times, including a fourth place finish in 2017. He was medalist 12 times during his career and was a two-time Siouxland Conference Champion. Merley had an 18-hole scoring average of 73 and has a tournament-low round of 68 (-3). He plans to major in Business at Northwestern and is the son of Randy and Diann.
"Tyler is a phenomenal athlete with great basics and fundamentals in golf," said Northwestern head coach
Aaron Aberson. "He has a very refined short game and a simple swing that will help him adapt quickly to the more difficult college courses. We are thrilled to have Tyler join us for the spring semester."
