Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Red Raiders Fall to Midland

The Red Raiders dropped their first GPAC match of the season to Midland University 3-0 Saturday night.

Northwestern and Midland both struggled in the first half creating chances as both teams could not connect in the final third. The Warriors mustered up 3 shots in the first half and NWC had only 2.

The midfield battle was ramped up in the second half as both teams saw a lot more physicality ensue. There was more back and forth at the beginning of the second half and both teams were playing well.

The scoreless draw was broken in the 70th minute when Robert Wiseman capitalized on a Red Raider miscue and was able to hit a shot from just inside the 18 yard box past Matt Scott

Wiseman would double his tally in the 76th minute. The counter attack goal for the Warriors was created by a through ball from James Kilburn and Scott came out to cut the angle on the shot but Wiseman calmly chipped the ball up and over and into the back of the net.

Sebastian Osueke would get his goal on the night on a counter goal after the Raiders threw a ton of numbers up trying to get back in the game. Daniel McBriarty played a long through ball that Osueke was able to calmly finish to put the score to 3-0.

The Red Raiders are now 3-1-2 in the GPAC and 7-4-2 overall. The Warriors move to 4-1 in the GPAC and 7-5 overall.

Northwestern will look to get back on track Wednesday night as they host new GPAC foe Presentation College at 7:15pm
