Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Raiders Earn 6th Seed Regardless of 3-0 Loss

The Red Raiders (10-6-2, 6-3-2 GPAC) ended the regular season Saturday night with a 3-0 loss to 4th ranked Hastings College. Although the Raiders lost, they still clinched the 6th overall seed in the GPAC Postseason Tournament.

The Broncos (14-2, 11-0 GPAC), outright GPAC regular season champions, came out quick and were looking to possess the ball as a big part of their game plan.

The possession would lead to a chance in the 10th minute when Daniel Whitehall headed the ball to Jonathan Lopez who flicked the ball over Matt Scott.

The Broncos would double their tally when Whitehall would head home a cross from Fernando Lisboa in the 41st minute.

Hastings would add their third in the 58th minute when Florian Rieder hit a strong back post finish off a through ball from Bruno Moreira.

The Raiders battled well throughout but could not find the back of the net on their 8 shots in the match.

The Red Raiders will take on Briar Cliff University Thursday, November 1st at 2pm on the campus of Briar Cliff. The Chargers and Raiders tied in their only matchup this year 2-2.
