Men's Basketball To Make Season Debut This Weekend

Game Time... The Northwestern College men's basketball team will make their 2018-19 season debut this weekend as they host Oak Hills Christian (Minn.) on Saturday, Oct. 27. Tip-off at the Bultman Center is scheduled for 5pm.

All-Time...Northwestern is 3-0 all-time against Oak Hills Christian with all three wins coming during the 2016-17 season.

    Oak Hills Christian Wolfpack - Head Coach Jeremy Anderson

Located in Bemidji, Minn., Oak Hills Christian plays is NCCAA Division I but plays against several NAIA teams every season. Last year, the Wolfpack finished with a 10-19 overall record, 7-5 in conference play. Three starters and four players return off last year's team for Coach Anderson.

Northwestern College Red Raiders - Head Coach Kris Korver - 19th year

The Red Raiders bring back two starters and nine players from a 2017-18 team that finished second in the GPAC with a 13-5 record and qualified for the 2018 NAIA D-II National Championship. Earning a win over Bellevue in the opening round, Northwestern lost to the University of Saint Francis (Ind.) in round of 16 to end the season with a 26-7 record, the 13th 20+-win season under head coach Kris Korver

Korver begins his 19th season as the Red Raiders head coach, owning a 421-159 overall record during his tenure. He is the winningest coach in program history and has guided teams to the national tournament in 13 of 18 seasons, twice winning the national title.

Northwestern was picked to finish tied for sixth in the GPAC Preseason poll.
