Red Raiders Conclude Road Trip In Fremont

Game Time...18th-ranked Northwestern concludes its four-game road trip this weekend against Midland in Fremont, Neb. Tip-off on Saturday, Jan.6 is scheduled for 2pm. The Red Raiders have won three straight and are tied with three teams (Morningside, Dakota Wesleyan and Hastings) for second in the current GPAC standings with a 6-2 record, 11-5 overall. Midland is tied with Dordt for seventh in the current GPAC standings at 3-5, 8-10 overall.

All-Time...Northwestern swept the Warriors last year, earning an 84-81 road win and a 90-50 home win late in the season. The Red Raiders lead the all-time series 37-14 and are 9-1 over the last 10 games against Midland.

The Warriors have dropped four straight to fall into a tie for seventh place in the GPAC with a 3-5 record, 8-10 overall. Since earning back-to-back wins over Dordt and Mount Marty in early December, Midland has lost to Baker (Kan.), Menlo (Calif.), UC Merced and Hastings (Neb.)

Gilbert is in his fifth season as the Warriors head coach and to Midland after coaching stints at University of Nebraska Lincoln and Mount Mercy. Gilbert returns three starters and six players from 2016-17 team that finished tied with Mount Marty for eighth in the GPAC with a 7-13 record, 15-15 overall.
