14th-ranked Northwestern College used a 20-10 scoring advantage in the fourth quarter to pull away from Briar Cliff 73-57 and earn its seventh consecutive win. The Red Raiders improve to 10-2 in the GPAC, 15-5 overall.Â
Three Red Raiders posted double-doubles, led by
Anna Kiel, who scored a game-high 16 points to go with a season-high 10 rebounds.
Kassidy De Jong nearly matched her with 15 points and 10 boards while
Renee Maneman added 10 points and tallied a career-best 13 assists.Â
Tied at 47, De Jong knocked down a three-pointer to start a 6-0 Northwestern run over the final 58 seconds to take a 53-47 advantage at the end of the third quarter.
Haley Birks made 1-of-2 free throws and Maneman scored on a lay-up with four seconds left in the quarter.Â
The Red Raiders continued their run in the opening moments of the fourth, outscoring the hosts 11-0, to put the score at 64-47 after a basket by De Jong with five minutes left to go. A three-pointer by
Sammy Blum moments later gave Northwestern its largest lead, 67-49, and iced the game for Coach Yaw's squad.Â
Northwestern shot 49% for the game and a season-best 50% (8/16) from the three-point line. The Red Raiders held a big edge, 34-25, on the glass, led by both Kiel and De Jong with 10.Â
 The game was tight for most of the first three quarters, with Northwestern holding a 14-12 lead at the end of the first quarter. A basket by Maneman and a three-pointer from
Paige Danner put the Red Raiders in front 19-12 with eight minutes left in the half. The Chargers answered with their best run of the game, outscoring NW 11-2 after knocking down three straight three-pointers, to take a 23-21 lead. The score was tied at the half, 28-28.Â
Northwestern went up by as much as seven (41-34) early in the third but BCU fought back once again, tying the game at 47 with a three-pointer by Johanna Vaske and a jumper by Julie Targy.Â
Logan Ehlers led Briar Cliff (5-7, 8-14) with 13 points, followed by Taylor Wagner with 12 and Faith Troshynski with 11.

De Jong passed both Alli Engebretson (2010-14) and Jane Van Klompenburg (1986-90) and into 13th place all-time in scoring (1,409pts); De Jong also moved into a tie for 22nd place in career rebounding (562) with Wendy Rainboth (1993-97).
