The Red Raiders earned a 2-2 draw Saturday at Grace College (Ind.). The Raiders had to come back twice to earn the draw and ended their 2-game road trip to Indiana 0-1-1.
Grace got the scoring underway in the 28th minute after a counter attack earned the Lancers a penalty kick. Colin Cape stepped up and was able to put the spot kick past
Matt Scott.Â
The Raiders got even in the 42nd minute when a corner, one of the Red Raider's seven corners on the day, was earned.
Isaac Wong hit a hard cross in and
Cole Cruse caused the Grace keeper issues and
Ben Hengst was able to bash home the loose ball.
Grace would earn back the lead in the 59th minute when Damon Binkley was able to put away a through ball played by Ulisses Miranda.
Northwestern was able to come back one more time, this time with more drama as
Ben Hengst was able to score once again off a corner kick. The Raiders had all 11 players, including goalkeeper
Matt Scott in the Grace box and after a mad scramble,
Tyler Limmer was able to play a small, 3 yard pass back to
Ben Hengst who was able to poke home the pass.Â
The Raiders were not able to capitalize on their chances in either overtime period even though they dominated the run of play.Â
