Northwestern College scored the go-ahead run off a squeeze bunt to defeat Bethany 8-7 in extra innings of game one of a scheduled doubleheader. Game two was called in the third inning due to power failure. 

Tied at seven heading into the eighth inning, the international tie-break rule put Mons Figueroa as the go-ahead run at second base. Katie Elliott then grounded out to the right side, advancing Figureroa to third. Jessica Sandbulte then put down a squeeze bunt, scoring Figueroa and the go-ahead run.

Kayla Tindall earned the win, giving up eight hits and five earned runs in the full eight innings. The junior walked one and struck out three.

Northwestern totaled seven hits, led by Sandbulte who went 2-for-3 with three RBIs and a run scored. Cheyenne Wilcke added a two-run home run in the sixth inning and Sam Wielenga went 1-for-4 with an RBI single. 

Trailing 4-2, Northwestern went ahead with a five-run sixth inning. Wilcke tied it with her two-run home run and the Red Raiders took advantage of a couple of Swedes errors leading to the other three runs. 

Bethany came back with three in the bottom of the sixth to tie it at seven. 

Northwestern will play Friends University in Wichita, Kan. today.
