Red Raiders Sweep Tabor, 2-0 and 6-4

Kayla Tindall pitched a complete-game three hitter to lead Northwestern College to a 2-0 win in game one of a doubleheader against Tabor. The Red Raiders picked up the sweep with a 6-4 win in game two.

Northwestern evens its record to 3-3 on the season while Tabor falls to 1-6.

The Red Raiders scored both of their runs with two outs in the fifth inning when Jaclyn Smith belted a two-run triple, scoring Jessica Sandbulte and Sam Wielenga, who was running for Katie Elliott who reached base on single.

Tindall (2-1) pitched a gem in earning her first shutout of the season, eighth for her career, giving up three hits while striking out five. Tindall retired the side in order in five of the seven innings and allowed just one runner past first base.

Northwestern totaled three hits, one each for Smith, Elliott and Madison Beaver

The Red Raiders totaled nine hits in their 6-4, game two win, led by Beaver and Jensen Boger with two hits each. Elliott added a two-run single in Northwestern's three-run first inning.

Morgan Means (1-2) picked up the win, giving up 10 hits and four runs in seven innings. She struck out three and walked five.

Northwestern led 6-1 after four innings and held off a Blue Jays comeback, who scored three in the fifth inning and had the tying run at the plate.
