Ranked Teams Match-Up Friday Evening

Game Time...No.11 Northwestern College will host (RV) Concordia this weekend in GPAC match-up featuring ranked teams. Tip-off at the Bultman Center on Friday, Dec. 15 is scheduled for 6pm. Northwestern is tied with Dordt for fifth place in the current GPAC standings with a 3-2 record, 11-2 overall. Concordia is tied with both Briar Cliff and Morningside for first place in the GPAC with a 4-1 record, 9-2 overall.

All-Time...Northwestern holds a 47-21 lead in the all-time series (dating back to 1960-61) and is 6-4 over the last 10 match-ups. Last year, the Red Raiders swept Concordia, winning both games by four points or less.

    The Bulldogs come into the weekend on a four-game win streak and in a three-way tie for first place in the current GPAC standings with a 4-1 record. Since losing to then-10th-ranked Dakota Wesleyan on the road on Nov.18, Concordia has defeated Mount Marty, Colorado Christian, Dordt and Hastings. They are 9-2 overall and earned votes in the last NAIA D-II coaches' poll. The Bulldogs' other loss was to 16th-ranked Tabor (Kan.).

    Hired in March of 2013, Limback is in his fifth season as the Bulldogs head coach after a successful nine-year stint in the same role at Concordia of Michigan. Limback has guided the Bulldogs to a better record in each of his four previous seasons, including a 21-10 record last year, the most wins since the 2004-05 season. Two starters and nine players return from the 2016-17 squad that finished tied for fifth in the GPAC at 10-8.

Northwestern has won two straight games and is tied for fifth in the GPAC with a 3-2 record. The Red Raiders are 11th in the current NAIA coaches' poll, one of four teams from the GPAC in the top 25, and boast an 11-2 overall record. They scored over 100 points in picking up two wins last week against Dordt and Dakota State.
