Game Time...Northwestern College makes the long road trip west to play Hastings in a conference match-up Tuesday night, Nov. 21. Tip-off at Lynn Farrell Arena is scheduled for 7pm. Ranked fifth in the NAIA D-II preseason poll, Northwestern is off to a 6-0 start to the season, 1-0 in the GPAC. Hastings is also 1-0 in the conference, 8-1 overall.

All-Time...Northwestern holds a 32-21 lead in the all-time series but is just 3-7 over the last 10 games against the Broncos. Last year, the Red Raiders went 2-1 against Hastings, with both wins coming at the Bultman Center.

The Broncos won five straight games to start the 2017-18 season and then suffered its only loss, a 73-53 setback at home to Kansas Wesleyan, on Nov.9. Since then, Hastings has wins over Tabor, Sterling and a 70-65 road win over Mount Marty to open GPAC play. They are 8-1 overall on the season.

Coach Gavers, in his fifth season with the Broncos after a standout coaching career at Grand Island High School, returns four starters and 12 players from a 2016-17 team that finished seventh in the GPAC with an 8-10 record, 14-17 overall.

The Red Raiders improved their record to 6-0 last time out, defeating Doane in its GPAC opener 97-57 at the Bultman Center. They have scored 100+ points in four of the six games played. Last Tuesday's game against the Saints was the 400th win for head coach Kris Korver in his 18 season at NWC. 

Northwestern is off to its best start to a season since 2011-12 when they opened with a 7-0 record. The Red Raiders other wins are over Jamestown, Valley City State, Waldorf, Peru State and Presentation.
