Raiders Pick Up A Win At Home

Northwestern improves to 1-1 in conference play 

Northwestern College played the Dakota Wesleyan University Wednesday Evening. The Raiders defeated the Tigers 3-1 and improve to 4-7 (1-1) on the season.  With the loss the Tigers fall to 1-8 (0-1). 

The Raiders offense was on attack all evening as they put up 29 shots to Dakota Wesleyan's ten shots.

Raiders got on the plus column early with a goal from Morgan Newby, assisted by Connor Sams and Ben Hengst.

The Raiders took a 1-0 lead into the half.

At the 60 minute mark Anselmo Kim played a ball into the net off of a corner kick to push the score to 2-0 in favor of the Raiders. Anselmo's first career collegiate goal.

Northwestern added an insurance goal when Connor Sams played a ball from Tyler Limmer into the net for his first career collegiate goal.

For Dakota Wesleyan Peter Wartenberg recorded a goal to move the score to 3-1 and that proved to be the final.

The Raiders Mike Wick gets credit for the win in goal making one save and allowing one goal.
