Northwestern College vs. Presentation College

Northwestern College hosted Presentation College on Friday evening.  NWC wins a tight one with a final score of 2-1.

Northwestern fell behind when Presentation scored a goal in the 23rd minute by Brittany Cusick.  The Raiders did answred five minutes later with a strike from Jessica Carver, assisted by Cherish Henry.

Play was back and forth all night when in the 55th minute Madison Bertman put the Raiders up 2-1 on a cross from Alissa Christoffer.  

Presentation had chances to score late in the match but great defense and saves by Madison Fordyce sealed the win for Northwestern.

Northwestern College vs. Bellevue University

Northwestern in the second match of the Pizza Ranch Classic dropped a close match to the Bruins who won 2-1.

Bellevue took advantage of an early corner kick and was able to score off the foot of Kaleigh Young just two minutes into play.

The Bruins held the 1-0 lead all the way to halftime.

The Raiders responded very well to the early deficit and added the equalizer when Jennifer Inge had a fantastic header to beat the keeper from a cross delivered by Jahdai Dunk.

Unfortunately the Bruins got the best of the Raiders when Maiwut Dar put them in the lead with the score at 2-1. 

Northwestern put up eight other second half shots, but none were able to find the net to tie the match.

Northwestern splits on the weekend in two very competitive matches. The Raiders move to 1-2 overall on the 2016 season.
