Northwestern College dropped its final two matches at the Biola Summer Slam Classic played in La Mirada, Calif.
After going 1-1 on day one, Northwestern was swept by both University of Great Falls (Mont.)(25-19, 25-22, 27-25) and Montana Tech (25-16, 25-19, 25-20). The Red Raiders fall to 1-3 on the year.
Lauren Hilger led Northwestern with 15 kills and was the lone Red Raider who put down double figures. Jessica Jensen and Andrea Horstman added eight and seven kills, respectively. Northwestern hit .208 for the match, compared to .280 by UGF.
Madi Arnell lofted up a match-high 18 assists and Jillian Estes led the backrow with 14 digs.
Northwestern hit .143 in the final match of the day against Montana Tech, led by Hilger, who paced NWC with 12 kills. Jessa Doom lofted up 16 assists and Estes once again led the backrow with 13 digs.
The Red Raiders will host their annual classic next weekend, Aug. 26-27, at the Bultman Center.
