Kooima was an impressive 12-for-16 from the field, making season-high five three-pointers, en route to a new career high. The junior sharp-shooter also became the 44th Red Raider to score 1,000 points in a career, reaching the milestone with a jumper with eight minutes left in the first half.

Jordan Baker added 10 points coming off the bench and both Nathan Wedel and Christian Korver netted eight points each.

How It Happened...

Northwestern scored the first five points of the game and after a Riley Francis three-pointer, the hosts led 12-4 just four minutes in. Jamestown came back to take its only lead, 21-18, after consecutive three-pointers by Kiwane Crowder and Daymea Stewart that sparked a 17-6 run.

Kooima carried the load offensively over the next six minutes, scoring 10 of his team's next 13 points, as Northwestern grabbed the lead back for good, 35-27. A jumper by Jamestown guard made it a two-point game (37-35) but Northwestern closed the half strong, building its advantage up to nine, 50-41, by halftime.

Northwestern pushed the lead to double-digits early in the second half but did not put the Jimmies away until a 14-6 run around the 10-minute mark that made it a 20-point game. The Red Raiders stepped it up defensively, limiting Jamestown to just 30% over the final period, 18% (3/17) from the three-point line.
