Red Raiders Win Fifth Straight; Defeat Oak Hills Christian 114-82

Northwestern College earned its fifth straight win as they rolled past Oak Hills Christian 114-82 in the final game on Friday of the Northwestern Classic, sponsored by the Van Englenhoven Agency and P' Pizza. The Red Raiders improved to 5-1 on the year and are off to their best start since the 2012-13 season. 

Five Northwestern players scored in double figures, led by Colton Kooima who netted 25 points in just 22 minutes of action. Mading Thok was perfect from the floor (8-for-8) en route to a career-high 19 points and Jordan Baker chipped in 15 points and seven boards, both season highs.

All 12 Red Raiders scored and played at least eight minutes in Friday night's win against Oak Hills Christian.

How It Happened...

Colton Kooima jumper put Northwestern in front by 11 (23-12)  just five minutes in and the Red Raiders pushed the lead to 20 with 6:43 left in the opening half. With a distinct size advantage, Northwestern was able to notch a 18-4 edge in second-chance points to grab a 62-37 lead at the break. 

Northwestern shot 64% in the first 20 minutes and an even better 65% over the final half as they pulled away from the Wolfpack.

By the Numbers...

Northwestern shot 64% for the game and went 10-for-24 from beyon the arc (42%)

The Red Raiders held a big edge on the glass, 42-19, leading to a 48 points scored in the paint

Blake Riggen matched his career-high with 12 points and Riley Francis scored in double figures (10) for the fourth time this season

Oak Hills Christian shot 49% for the game and put up 38 three-pointers, making 16 (42%)

Moe Blackmon led the Wolfpack with 24 points
