Lauryn Hilger put down a match-high 18 kills in leading Northwestern to an impressive 3-0 sweep (25-18, 25-15, 25-19) over Concordia in a GPAC volleyball match-up played this afternoon at the Bultman Center. The Red Raiders later lost to No. 2 Westmont (Calif.) in four sets as they move to 5-4 in the GPAC, 13-14 overall.
Northwestern hit .333 in the three-set win over the Bulldogs, led by Hilger who notched her 22nd match this season with 10+ kills. A.J. Horstman added six kills and a carer-high seven ace serves and Caley Vink hit .500 and put down four kills and two assisted blocks.
Concordia hit. 174, led by Paige Getz with 10 kills and Taylor Workman added seven.
In the final match, Hilger and Jessica Jensen put down 14 and 11 kills respectively in the Red Raiders 3-1 loss (25-14, 25-15, 21-25, 25-21) to unbeaten and No.2 Westmont (Calif.).Â
Northwestern hit .070 for the match but held a 12-8 advantage in blocks, led by Hilger with three and Jil Vander Plaats with 2.5. Jessa Doom lofted up 38 assists and Jillian Estes totaled 19 digs to lead the backrow.Â

Hilger added 14 digs for her eighth double-double of the season.
Westmont improved to 23-0 and was led by Taylor Beckman with 12 kills. The Warriors hit .174 for the match and had seven ace serves, three for setter Alexa Nestlerode.
