Raiders Drop Regular Season Finale To No. 10 Hastings

Northwestern College played No. 10 Hastings College Saturday evening. The Raiders suffered a 1-3 loss. With the loss Northwestern drops to 10-8 (6-4) on the season.  With the win the Broncos improved to 16-1-1 (10-0). 

Northwestern got off to a rough start when an own goal put Hastings up 0-1.  

The Raiders defense battled and held strong to keep the game at a 0-1 score at the half.

In the second half the Raiders got on the board with a Penalty kick from Alissa Christoffer. The goal was set up by Jahdai Dunk being fouled in the box.

Raiders tried to keep the pressure on the Broncos, but they answered right back in the 46th minute with a goal from Megan Kruse to push their lead to 2-1.

In the 75th minute the Broncos Josie Knapp played a ball at her feet and flipped a goal into net banking it off the cross bar and in.  

The Broncos would finish off the game with a 3-1 victory over the Raiders.

The Raiders took five shots with two on goal.  The Broncos took 28 shots with ten on goal.  

Northwestern finishes the conference season with a record of 6-4, 5th place in the conference standings.

Tuesday, November 1st Raiders will travel to Morningside at 7 p.m for GPAC Quarterfinals Match.
