Jacob Kalogonis rushed for 178 yards and the Raider D dominated play in leading Northwestern to a 41-0 win over (RV) Midland this afternoon at DeValois Stadium. (This result has since been changed to a forfeit due to ineligible student athlete(s)).

Sam Van Ginkel registered four sacks, breaking both the GPAC and school record he shared (3.5) with former Red Raider Cody Van Sloten. The Raider D totaled six sacks and registered its first shutout of the season and fifth in the last three years. They also scored a pair of fourth quarter touchdowns off a 34-yard interception return by Donovan Weldon and a 25-yard fumble recovery by Jed Van't Hof.
Northwestern totaled 362 yards of offense, led by Kalogonis who rushed 19 times for 178 yards, his second highest output of the season. Jonathan Kodama completed 12-of-23 passes for 129 yards and two touchdowns while Craig Bruinsma completed all three of his passes for 34 yards and a touchdown.
The Red Raider offense scored on its second drive when J.C. Koerselman rumbled two yards for a touchdown to give his team a 7-0 lead. The score remained that way until Northwestern's first drive of the second quarter when Kodama found Jared Nelson for a 34-yard touchdown, converting on a fourth-and-13.
The Raider D forced Midland into a 3-and-out on its next possession and their offense capitalized, marching 38 yards on seven plays, capped by a 18-yard touchdown pass from Bruinsma to Landon Johnson for a 21-0 lead.
Following a scoreless third quarter, Northwestern scored its final touchdown on offense when Kodama connected with Levi TeBrink for a 26-yard score. The scoring drive was set up by the Raider D as Miguel Alvarado forced and Joey Novotny recovered a Midland fumble.
The Raider D clinched the game from there, stopping Midland on fourth down on its next drive and scoring a pair of touchdowns off two Warriors' turnovers over the final four minutes.
Nelson, TeBrink and Reggie Carter all caught three passes for 43, 42 and 34 yards, respectively.
Josh Treybal was one of the leaders on the Raider D with solo tackles and one sack. Alvarado accounted for seven total tackles and forced a fumble while both Van Ginkel and Logan Richard registered seven total stops.
Midland gained 267 yards of offense, led by freshman quarterback Garry Cannon who completed 18-of-42 passes for 221 yards. (Stats will still count in the forfeit)
