Sean Pierce was hired as an assistant baseball coach at Northwestern in the fall of 2026. In his role, Pierce works primarily with the pitching staff.
In his previous role at St. Francis (Ill.), Pierce helped USF to an overall record of 96-108 (76-47 CCAC) during his four years in assisting the program, while capturing the 2023 & 2024 Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference regular season championships and 2024 CCAC Tournament title. He assisted in guiding the Saints to two NAIA National Tournament appearances (2023, 2024) and helped develop four pitchers in obtaining CCAC All-Conference status, the 2024 Pitcher of the Year (Ryan Daly), as well as three CCAC Gold Glove Team pitchers. In 2023, his pitchers led the CCAC in ERA, WHIP, OBA, and least number of walks in conference action.
Prior to joining St. Francis's staff, Pierce spent one season (2021-22) as an assistant baseball coach at NJCAA College of DuPage. While at COD, Pierce assisted in all aspects of the program and helped guide the Chaparrals to a NJCAA Division III Region IV runner-up finish.
Pierce began his coaching career in 2017 as the head coach and youth pitching instructor for Chicago Select Baseball, where he helped develop tactical skills and mental strategies for baseball players. In June of 2021, he was promoted to Director of Pitching within the organization, a position he held until August of 2023. In the summer of 2024, Pierce managed the Highland Panthers in the Northern League.
Pierce is a 2020 graduate of Millikan University with a bachelor's degree in sport and fitness administration/management in 2020 and received a master's in business management from St. Francis in 2024.
