Jonah Egli was hired as Northwestern's assistant men's wrestling coach in the summer of 2026.
Prior to coming to Northwestern, Egli completed coaching stints at Minnesota West Community College and Morningside University, helping develop five All-Americans during his collegiate coaching career. While at Minnesota West, Egli designed and ran the strength and conditioning program alongside his coaching duties. In addition to his collegiate coaching experience, Egli has spent time coaching with clubs, middle and high school programs, and wrestling camps.
Egli earned First Team All-GPAC honors during a standout senior season at Morningside, posting a 17-1 record in 2020-21. He finished 18-5 as a junior and went 4-1 as a sophomore after beginning his collegiate career at Iowa Central Community College. Egli graduated from Morningside in 2021 with a degree in mass communication.
Hailing from Fort Dodge, Iowa, Egli's connection to Northwestern extends beyond the wrestling mat. His brothers, Ben and Levi, recently graduated from Northwestern and were members of the football program, while his youngest brother, Jesse, will be an incoming freshman this fall.
