Coach Borchers begins his second season as an assistant coach at Northwestern during the 2016-17 season. Borchers is currently a veterinarian at Sioux Center Veterinary Clinic after graduating from Wartburg with a Bachelor's degree in Biology and with minors in Chemistry and Leadership. Borchers also has earned a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Iowa State.

While at Wartburg Borchers was a member of a NCAA D3 National Championship team and was a teammate of three All-Americans. He was the recipient of the Coach's Award while at Wartburg.

Borchers is looking forward to helping the Northwestern wrestlers "succeed with the gifts that God has given them and with the will and commitment they have." He is most excited about the opportunity to "mentor and coach men of God in their given talents and gifts."

Borchers, and his wife Amanda, have two sons; Kaden and Garrison.
