Simmelink was named the goalkeeper coach for both the Raiders men's and women's programs in 2016.

"I am excited to continue my involvement in this program," Simmelink said. "It was going to be a deal-breaker for the RD job if I couldn't keep coaching. I love the unique opportunity to invest in the lives of players for both the men's and women's squads." 

Simmelink got married in the Summer of 2022 to his wife Lindsay.
