Matt Dowie

  • Title
    Assistant Women's Soccer

Matt Dowie is entering his 3rd season as the assistant coach of the Northwestern Women's soccer team. Dowie was a member of Northwestern teams from 2010-2013, and was a four year starter. He was named a captain for his senior season and was honored with 3 honorable mention all conference awards during his time at Northwestern. Before taking the women's assistant job he was a volunteer coach for one season on with the men's program.

When asked Dowie said, "I am lucky, blessed, and excited to be apart of the coaching staff for the women's program. During my time as a player at Northwestern I gained lasting memories, was taught life lessons, and learned how to honor God on and off the field no matter the results on the field. One reason I accepted the coaching job 3 seasons ago was so that I could help the women that come through the program have a similar college experience. I am excited for another season where I can help these women and this program reach the goals we set at the beginning of every season."

Since graduating Matt took a computer programming job at Principal Financial Group where he still works today. Matt resides in Orange City with his wife Lauren and two year old son Hudson.Â
