Juan Mackrey joined the Northwestern men's soccer coaching staff in 2023 as a volunteer assistant.
Originally from Balcarce, Buenos Aires, Argentina, Mackrey graduated from Northwestern in 2022 with a degree in economics and exercise science. In addition to working with the men's soccer team, he works as an Admissions Counselor and Éxito Coordinator at Northwestern.
Prior to returning to Northwestern, Mackrey was an assistant men's soccer coach at North Iowa Area Community College in 2022.
Mackrey was a key contributor on the Red Raider men's soccer team that qualified for the 2021 NAIA Opening Round, scoring 11 goals and compiling 24 points on the year. He was named a First Team All-GPAC performer in 2021. Along with his play on the pitch, Mackrey was a member of the Raiders' men's tennis team.
