High School:Â decorated three-year career playing for Western Christian High School; earned first team all-state honors two years and finished career with 6,739 passing yards and 81 touchdowns to go with 1,170 rushing yards and 16 scores; threw for 2,505 yards and 38 scores while leading his team to the 1A state championship and a 12-1 record as senior; also registered 32 tackles and two sacks while earning first team all-district honors; named the all-Northwest Iowa most valuable player on offense.
