TUCSON, Ariz.- The Raiders found themselves facing off against a familiar foe in the form of the College of Saint Mary Flames in Arizona, but thanks to dominant offense and freshman
Audrie Kohl delivering a no-hitter, Northwestern won the contest 9-0.

How It Happened:
The game remained scoreless through the first four innings until the Raiders broke through in the fifth inning.
Myla Murphy pinch hit and doubled to left field, setting the stage for the run-scoring sequence.
Sydney Jacobs started it off with an RBI single before
Tatum Schmalbeck followed with a two-RBI single, scoring Jacobs and
Rylee Bomgaars.
Allison Koontz's single brought in
Aly Vortherms, rounding out the inning with a 4-0 lead for Northwestern.
The momentum continued in the sixth inning as the Raiders added five more runs.
Ava Gross singled to left, and an error allowed three runners to score. Koontz singled again, bringing in another run.
Paige Kingery completed the inning's scoring with an RBI single of her own. By the end of the sixth, the Raiders led 9-0.
Audrie Kohl, completed a shutout, limiting the Flames to no hits and securing the complete game victory.
Game Notes
- Audrie Kohl delivers the first no-hitter of the year, the first since February 24, 2024.
- Kohl added five strikeouts as well.
- Rylee Bomgaars shined on offense going three for three at the plate and scoring two runs.
- Allison Koontz and Myla Murphy both registered two hits.
- Ava Gross and Tatum Schmalbeck led the team with two RBIs each.
- The Raiders had 14 hits to just one strikeout.
