How It Happened
Northwestern secured a decisive 13-2 victory over Calumet College of St. Joseph in the second game of Tuesday's action. The Red Raiders capitalized on a nine-run fifth inning and took advantage of the Crimson Wave's three errors to clinch the win.

Calumet opened the scoring in the first inning when Lazaro Liriano tripled and later scored on a wild pitch, giving the Crimson Wave a 1-0 lead. By the end of the second inning, the Crimson Wave extended its lead to 2-0 as Trevor Kubacki scored on a sacrifice fly by Liriano.

The Raiders responded in the bottom of the third inning. Cody Cizek, pinch running for Devin Dirkx, advanced on a wild pitch and scored on a double by Grant Rychnovsky. Rychnovsky was then driven in by Jack Craig's RBI single, leveling the score at 2-2.

In the fourth inning, Bryce Click put the Raiders ahead with a solo home run, making it 3-2.

The fifth inning saw the Raiders explode for nine runs. Craig's two-RBI single brought home Cizek and Rychnovsky. Kevin Rubio added an RBI single, and a hit-by-pitch allowed another run to score. A groundout by Ranier Castillo drove in another, followed by Dirkx's two-RBI double. The scoring spree continued as a wild pitch and an error allowed two more runs, and a bases-loaded walk from Calab Caciari capped the inning, extending the lead to 12-2.

The Raiders added another run in the sixth inning when Cizek singled to score Braydon Beelner, bringing the score to 13-2.

The Crimson Wave was unable to mount a comeback, and the game concluded with the Red Raiders claiming a 13-2 victory in seven innings.
