Five Raiders Achieve Event Wins at Dordt

SIOUX CENTER, Iowa – Northwestern men's track & field continued the indoor season at the Dordt Open on Saturday, recording several top-three finishes across sprints, distance events, jumps, throws, and relays.

Senior Braden Kalvelage highlighted the day with a pair of victories, winning the 200 meters in a record time of 21.89 and capturing first place in the long jump with a mark of 7.33 meters, an NAIA automatic qualifying performance.

The Red Raiders showed strength in the middle distances as Carson Van Sickle claimed the victory in the 800 meters, crossing the line in 1:56.52, while Brady Van Sickle followed in second at 2:00.02.

Freshman Kalarga Mukhtar earned a victory in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.78, while Jacob Berggren added a runner-up finish. Vance Hayenga-Johnson ran to second place in the 60 meters, clocking 7.07.

Field event success continued with Drew Geetings winning the high jump after clearing 1.90 meters. In throws, Justin DeHoyos placed second in the shot put and third in weight throw while Jacob Folkerts secured a second-place finish in the weight throw. In the triple jump, Jesse Blok leapt to 11.57m for third place.

Northwestern capped the meet with a strong showing in the 4x400-meter relay, as the 'A' squad finished second with a time of 3:27.30.
