Impressive Offense Leads to Impressive Win

ORANGE CITY, Iowa — Northwestern College (6-1-1, 2-0) secured a decisive 4-1 victory over the University of Jamestown (1-7, 0-0) at NWC Soccer Complex on Saturday. The Red Raiders' offense was effective, scoring three goals in the first half and adding another in the second to maintain control.

Northwestern took control early in the first half against Jamestown, opening the scoring in the 14th minute with Drew Darnold's goal assisted by Diego Quintero. The Raiders extended their lead in the 16th minute through a goal by Daniel Lindahl, assisted by Gorka Ilundain. Quintero further increased Northwestern's advantage with a goal in the 20th minute, this time assisted by Gonzalo Domingo. Jamestown's attempts to respond included a wide shot by Jack Greenwood in the 21st minute, but they were unable to find the back of the net. The half ended with the Red Raiders leading 3-0.

Northwestern extended their lead early in the second half with a goal from Rodri Perez in the 49th minute, assisted by Gonzalo Domingo. The Jimmies responded quickly, narrowing the deficit to 4-1 with a penalty kick goal by Felipe Costa in the 52nd minute. Despite several attempts by the Red Raiders to increase their lead, including shots from Lindahl and Bongkefon Kumla, Jamestown's defense held firm. The match concluded with a series of fouls and offside calls, with the Raiders maintaining their three-goal advantage for a final score of 4-1.

Looking ahead, the Raiders will host Dakota Wesleyan on October 1. The match is set for a 5 p.m. kickoff at the NWC Soccer Complex.
