ORANGE CITY, Iowa — Northwestern College battled throughout the night but fell 31–11 to Dakota Wesleyan in a tough GPAC dual on Tuesday.
The Red Raiders opened the dual with a strong performance at 125lbs, where
Logan Schroeder controlled the match start to finish in a 5–1 decision. At 133lbs Ethan Skogland dropped a narrow decision to DWU's Kipp Cordes. The Raiders responded at 141 with one of their most dominant efforts of the evening—
Noah Parmelee poured on the offense for a 16–7 major decision over Ian Metz. The momentum continued at 149lbs, with
Johnny Burnette following suit with a major decision of his after a commanding 10–1 performance over Landon Flogstad. Despite these early highlights, DWU capitalized on bonus-point victories in several middle and upper-weight bouts to take control of the dual. At 157lbs,
Cade Braun battled in a back-and-forth match before falling in a tight 11–8 decision to Tyson Johnson. DWU then strung together a series of technical falls and a fall at 197 heading into the final bout at 285lbs where
Logan Ash dropped a hard fought 7-2 decision. Though the Raiders fought with grit from start to finish, the Tigers' heavy hitters in the upper weights ultimately secured the dual. Northwestern will regroup and look to bounce back in their next outing.
