Raiders Post Another Shutout in Dominant Win

CRETE, Neb. — Northwestern College (11-1-1, 6-0-0) secured a decisive 3-0 victory over Doane University (2-8-2, 1-3-2) on Saturday, with the Red Raiders' goalkeeper posting a shutout while making one save.

The match commenced with the Raiders asserting early offensive pressure, with Gonzalo Domingo taking corner kicks at both 4:30 and 10:41. Daniel Lindahl and Gorka Ilundain each took shots, but both were off target. The pivotal moment came in the 32nd minute when Drew Darnold scored the first goal for the Raiders, assisted by Juan Miranda. Darnold doubled the lead in the 42nd minute, capitalizing on an assist from a Jovany Kabongo saved shot. The Tigers' goalkeeper made several saves, but the Raiders maintained a 2-0 advantage by the end of the first half.

Northwestern added to their lead late in the second half when Drew Darnold completed his second hat trick of the season, sealing a 3-0 victory over the Tigers. The half was marked by strategic plays and defensive efforts, with Domingo taking multiple shots. In the 86th minute, Darnold scored the final goal of the match, assisted by Ben Nederpel. The Tigers' attempts to break through were thwarted, with Mateo Jelicich's header saved by the Raiders' Edoardo Alessandrini. The Raiders defense was rock solid all game long preventing any significant attacks from the tigers.
