Home Win Puts Raiders Atop GPAC

Orange City, IA - The Raiders are two games into GPAC play and sit at 2-0 after a big victory over the Midland Warriors Saturday night, 3-2.

The first half would be all Warriors soccer as in the 13th minute Midland's NaTaija Blaylock scored her first goal of the season for the 1-0 lead. That wouldn't be the last of Midland as Aminata Lewis would take a shot into the net for the 2-0 score. The Raiders wouldn't go quietly into halftime as Taylor Brennan would knock a goal through to cut the lead in half.

Coming back to the field for the second period it would be all Northwestern as Avril Baccam would pick up her second assist of the night, this time to her sister Kylie Baccum to tie the match at 2-2 just five minutes into action. The teams would trade shots on goals back and forth until the Grace Timm of Northwestern would put a corner kick on the mark for not her team but the Warriors as the own goal would give the Raiders the lead with under 6 minutes to play. Final save would come from the Raiders' Peyton Anderson as time expired to give Northwestern the win.
