How It Happened
Timely offense and a shutout performance in the circle helped the Raiders to a 7-0 win in the early contest at the American State Bank Sports Complex.

A wild play put Northwestern on the board in the second, with Ashtyn Billings stealing second and coming around to score on an error on the same play to make it 1-0.

The Raiders put three runs up in the third, starting with a Tatum Schmalbeck base hit with two runners on to take a two-run lead. Northwestern took advantage of another Lancer error to put their third run up and moved ahead 4-0 on an RBI groundout.

Another unique play in the fifth saw Cassidy Gors score when Mount Marty's catcher threw the ball off of a Red Raider, allowing Gors to come home from third. The Raiders added to their lead in the sixth, as Charli Bomgaars had a base hit with a fielding error that scored two runs.

How It Happened
After the Raiders split the season series with Morningside, Northwestern defeated the Mustangs to advance to the second day of the GPAC tournament.

Northwestern broke the scoreless tie in the fourth, scoring when Chloe Gallegos lined the ball back to the circle, and Kameryn Etherington slid ahead of the tag for the game's first run.

Morningside tied it back up in the next half inning, scoring on an RBI double to left, bringing in the runner from first.

The Raiders added two in the bottom of the sixth, as Ashtyn Billings raced out an infield single to regain the lead. In the next at-bat, Randi Childress reached on a fielder's choice with the bases loaded, scoring Gallegos.

Morningside went down 1-2-3, sending them to an elimination game at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday.

Game Notes:
Up Next: The Raiders will play again at 12:15 p.m. tomorrow in Sioux Center, facing the winner of Mount Marty and Morningside. An if necessary elimination game would follow.
