How It Happened
Northwestern needed just three hits to earn the shutout win in the first game of Friday's doubleheader, defeating Concordia 2-0.

After both teams put a runner in scoring position in the first, the pitchers stood out for the first four innings in a low-scoring matchup.

The Raiders put two runs up in the fifth after Concordia retired the first two batters. Charli Bomgaars drew a walk before coming around to score on Gwen Mikkelsen's single and a defensive error. In the next plate appearance, Kameryn Etherington drove a base hit to right to help herself in the circle with a 2-0 lead.

Etherington allowed just one hit the rest of the game as Northwestern picked up the home win.

The second put another run across, with Ashtyn Billings putting down a perfect bunt to send Jori Hajek in from third. Next, Northwestern put another across in the third when Kameryn Etherington used the sacrifice fly to bring Mikkelsen in.

Continuing to add insurance runs, the Raiders added another run in the fifth on an error to secure the 4-0 win.
