After shutting down the first three batters, Northwestern gave up a leadoff home run to deep left field in the second for the game's first and only run.

The Raiders put runners in scoring position in the second, sixth, and seventh innings, but the Morningside defense held firm for the shutout win.

How It Happened
The Raiders bounced back to earn their 40th win of the year, getting a balanced performance to secure a top-two seed in the conference tournament.

Maddie Kvatek opened the scoring with a line drive right past the third baseman to send Randi Childress home from third and give Northwestern a 1-0 lead.

Childress returned the favor in the fourth, hitting a double past the outstretched glove to bring Ashtyn Billings in from first, doubling the Raider lead.

The Raiders put up two runs to take a 4-0 lead in the fifth, with Gwen Mikkelsen driving in a run with two runners on before Tatum Schmalbeck hit the ball to left for the sacrifice fly and insurance run.

Kate Kralik entered with four outs remaining and a three-run lead to earn the save.
